About the Foundation

The Delta Gamma Foundation fosters lifetime enrichment for members, promotes Service for Sight, and partners with the Fraternity to ensure the future of our sisterhood. Dedicated members and friends make this mission possible through philanthropy, service, and generous gifts that support the Foundation’s three signature programs: Service for Sight, Grants to the Fraternity for Leadership and Educational Programming, and Grants to Individual Members.

Two Organizations, One Delta Gamma:

We are one Delta Gamma, but in accordance with the Internal Revenue Code, the Foundation and Fraternity are two separate organizations. In 1951, the Delta Gamma Foundation was formed to complement the Fraternity, creating a vehicle for members to promote the educational interests and social responsibility referenced in Article II of the Fraternity Constitution. Each entity offers unique opportunities for our members to “Do Good.”

The Delta Gamma Foundation Constitution and Articles of Incorporation, the Convention, and the Foundation Board of Trustees govern the Foundation.

Service For Sight

Delta Gamma’s philanthropy, Service for Sight, supports the five schools founded by Delta Gammas for children who are visually impaired and other North American organizations that promote sight preservation and conservation. This philanthropy has been at the heart of the Delta Gamma mission since 1936, when a member who was blind, Ruth Billow, Eta-Akron, petitioned to adopt it as our official philanthropy.

Members invest in Service for Sight through hands-on service, awareness, and fundraising on their campuses and communities. On a national level, the Delta Gamma Foundation supports sight-related organizations through Service for Sight grants.
